Fitness Classes
The Tri-Cities Family YMCA is the fitness and aerobic leader in West Michigan, offering over 45 fitness classes each week. Many are unique to our facility. YMCA members have free access to at least twelve aerobic classes per week. The classes offered free rotate on a 6-week schedule. Fitness cards give members access to a session of classes not included in their membership, or non-members access to any fitness class. Classes include the following:

Aerobic Circuit Training
Change stations every 90 seconds alternating between segments of strength and cardio work.

Body Basics
Jog, walk or use the cardio center for your cardiovascular conditioning, then meet in the multipurpose room for muscle strengthening using weights and bands.

Cardio Step
This vigorous workout uses step or hi/lo aerobics as well as strength training using bands, balls and weight.

Cardio Kickboxing
Train like a fighter with footwork drills and jumpropes. Basic punches and kicks will be taught and then executed on heavy bags and clapper targets. Gloves and wraps required.

Outdoor Cross Terraining
This workout re-creates the impulsiveness of play in an action-packed, adventurous format. Bouts of cardio are blended with task training using the environment- all outdoors!

Non-Stop Step
Learn basic to advanced combinations that will move you in every direction!

Powerflex

Pure strength training, and pure fun! Powerflex is resistance training set to music, using all major muscles.

Super Sports Drills

Increase your speed, power, balance and agility, while developing core strength and burning calories.

Powerball
This is a total body conditioning class with major emphasis on core work and joint stabilization.

Yolates
Yolates is a blend of Yoga and Pilates that will work and stretch your whole body.

Fitness Yoga
It’s an invigorating heat building format of movements that will incorporate a challenging mind and body workout for all exercise levels.

Water Works
Use a variety of equipment including flotation belts, barbells and water logs, to give you a great cardiovascular workout while strengthening muscles.

A.O.A. Water Exercise
This class is designed for Active Older Adults, and uses the buoyancy of the water to improve strength, flexibility, muscle tone while minimizing stress to the joints.

A.O.A. Circuit Training

This Active Older Adult class uses the Cybex strength machine in the fitness center with intervals of cardiovascular exercise for a great, balanced workout.
